I am open to commissions for most crochet projects. My turn around time depends on the size and complexity, but it’s usually 4 – 6 weeks. A gallery of previous work can be viewed here.
Price of the commission depends on size and yarn used. A double bed sized blanket in merino wool will be far more than a cot blanket in cotton yarn, for instance. I am happy to discuss your idea via email or over WhatsApp / Zoom before an invoice is raised. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the overall cost is required up front.
What I Promise
○ To communicate with the client in regard to design, colours, and completion dates (please give me enough time if the item is to be a present!)
○ To use the yarn specified by the client. The only time I would use an alternative is if the original is discontinued during creation. This is extremely unlikely, but if it did happen, then a discussion with the client will take place.
○ To maintain the highest standards possible. I put a lot of time and effort into everything that I make, ensuring that yarn ends are secure and the design is followed to the letter. Every item (unless it’s stuffed) is washed to the yarn manufacturer’s instructions before shipping.
Disclaimers
There are a lot of AI images of crocheted items online that are simply not possible to make. I will refuse any commission wanting something that is AI-generated.
I can make softies and other toys, but I am not UKCA compliant and therefore cannot legally sell knowing a product is for a child under 3. Any toy commissioned is taken to be for children over 3.
The remainder of the commission’s cost is due on completion of the project and before it is posted out. I will not send anything that has not been fully paid for. Clients have 14 days from the second invoice going out to settle costs. Unless there is a good reason for non-payment, unpaid items will go into my shop. Again, no refund on the initial payment is given in this case.
Extenuating Circumstances
As much as I will endeavour to understand circumstances that delay payment (illness, job loss, death, etc), clients must understand that I am one person and sometimes life happens. I have an elderly parent, children, and pets that like to get themselves into trouble – any of which can cause short delays to finishing a project.
The key is communication. I promise to inform clients of any delay, whether it is personal or something like a postal strike, on the understanding that clients extend the same courtesy.
